A Post-Fire post...

Writer: LisbethLisbeth

So many of us are finding our footing as we adjust after the Palisades and Eaton fires. Most of my friends lost everything, but the beauty of people's generosity has been shining through since then. The only guarantee in life is change right? And so we go on. I've been doing what I do best, writing new music, and creating new stories. And this month, well this year, will see a lot of new releases, concerts, and soundtracks of my music, for which I am excited to say the least. For those of you who work alone, you know that feeling of exhaling as you share what you've been birthing for so long! March 15th I'll be performing with friends at a beautiful space in Camarillo, CA , music from a new musical I've been writing for YEARS. I've picked a bunch of tunes from the show and together with The Orchid Quartet, Dimitris Mahlis on oud and guitars, MB Gordy on Drums, Baraka May and Allie Feder and Dimitri Smith on vocals, will be performing them while sharing a bit of the story and the process of going from an idea in your mind, to Broadway. Tix here!

AND ....leap back 10 years with me to a time when I was knee deep in scoring the beautiful show Tumble Leaf. It was Amazon's biggest children's show created by Drew Hodges and produced by Kelli Bixler. It won 16 Emmys and I was nominated twice for an Annie Award for music, once with co-composer Nathan Barr, and the second time on my own. I played piano, guitars, ukelele, harp, bass, harmonium, percussion, and sang my brains out on the score. Happy to say I still do have some brains left. And also happy to announce the soundtrack has been released this past week!!! It's a great way to calm your kids...and yourself....and here's a link. This is volume 1, and volume 2 will coming shortly and features my lullaby Close Your Eyes. Enjoy! Here's a link to listen however you do!

much love, Lisbeth
