Hi everyone....Wow it's been hot here in California (120 when I was driving the other day!) so I'm hoping you are all finding ways to stay cool. I grew up in heat and humidity and no ac. It's never been my favorite thing! So lots of water (I've been putting lots of water out for the birds) and shade ... and also less driving, less plastic, more care for ourselves and each other and the environment! We'll get there....I have faith...
Ironically this month I'll be in one of the hottest places in the world (Las Vegas) and one of the coolest (Maine) !! In both places I'll be presenting new music which is exciting. In Las Vegas
I'll be attending the WBEC_West conference where a new venture is being launched called The Reset Room. It is the brain child of two brilliant women who have brought me and my music into the fold. Rachel Tenenbaum is a Neurotransformational Coach and Speaker and owner of I Am Living. Mirette Seireg is owner of the Music Library MPATH that features over 50% women created content. The Reset Room is a place to escape and rejuvenate for 5 minutes or 15 minutes while you're wandering around a giant conference feeling overwhelmed and yes a bit drained! I've created a soundtrack that allows the nervous system to regroup and reset and Rachel has created a short guided meditation that is also available should the visitor choose. There are delicious scents and sites creating a peaceful space. I can't wait to share this with the world wherever it is needed!
And from Las Vegas we venture to the back woods of Maine! The home of author Stephen King whose story Salem's Lot is the basis of the new Gary Dauberman directed feature film
which comes out this October....and is scored by me and Nathan Barr together. We had a blast scoring it with a wonderful group of musicians and a fantastic conductor, Lucas Richman, who is the conductor of the Bangor Symphony. So...on September 22nd, the Bangor Symphony will feature an excerpt from our score to the film during their 129th Anniversary Concert! We are so excited and honored for this opportunity. The soundtrack is released on October 3rd and we are both so proud of it. Yes it features my voice but in some quite inventive ways. The film comes out in October on MAX in time for Halloween!
And the beat goes on... with the soundtrack to our beloved children's show Tumble Leaf finally being released in mid October as well on Hearts of Space Records. We are so excited about this!! The score features a whimsical and gentle journey crafted from piano, banjo, ukulele, guitar, piano, vocals, cello and more. The perfect way to calm and focus an agitated child!
Yes there is more but I'll save that for the next newsletter. I'm off to take my doggy Lollie for a walk before the sun begins to fry us and the pavement is too hot for her little paws. Stay well and thank you as always for listening and reading. xoxoxo Lisbeth
